This gasket has the number 1719 embossed on its inner surface, check that this number matches the number embossed on its replacement. This version replaces the earlier 1503 rubber gasket.

This is the new standard SI valve which also replaces the older 1543 version. It pushes in from the underside of the lid. The blue rubber seal must fit tightly against the lid, all the way around, on the outside and inside (see the additional image). The spring must be visible on the inside and can be pushed manually to check operation.

Replacement stainless steel valve housing with three plastic legs. Models 1998 onwards. The Valve Housing is essentially a steam deflector and does not affect the operation of the main valve. The main valve is self-cleaning so you do not need to remove the valve housing every time the cooker is used to clean it. If you do wish to remove the valve housing please grip the housing between your finger and thumb of BOTH hands - and lift it off squarely as shown in the additional graphic.
